REPIC Clinic Gangnam · Skin boosters (Rejuran, PDRN, Juvelook, exosome)

What is the difference between Rejuran and PDRN injections in Korea?

At REPIC Clinic Gangnam in Seoul, both Rejuran Healer and PDRN injection are skin boosters made from salmon-derived DNA ingredients: Rejuran uses PN (polynucleotide), while PDRN injection uses PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide).

Neither is a filler — both support the skin’s own repair over a series of sessions — but they differ in ingredient, product range, session time and typical downtime, which the doctor weighs against your skin at the consultation.

At a glance

  • Rejuran Healer: PN (polynucleotide) purified from salmon DNA; injection time about 20 minutes; downtime around 2 days on average
  • Rejuran range: Rejuran Healer, Rejuran HB (with hyaluronic acid and lidocaine), Rejuran i (around the eyes), REPIC Signature Rejuran (anesthetic blended in)
  • PDRN injection: PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) derived from salmon; about 15 minutes; downtime around 1 day
  • Both: usually recommended as a series spaced 2–3 weeks apart; the number of sessions is decided at consultation
  • Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding; tell the doctor about any fish (salmon) allergy
  • Consultations and treatments are carried out by the doctors themselves
  • Interpreters on site: English, Chinese and Japanese; Arabic, Spanish, Russian and other languages if you book at least one week ahead (a separate booking fee may apply)
  • Location: 318 Gangnam-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (B1 & 2F) — about a 7-minute walk from Gangnam Station Exit 4; the nearest bus stop is "Raemian Apt. · Financial News" on the Gangnam-daero median bus lane

Same source, different ingredient

Both treatments use DNA-derived ingredients from salmon, which is why they are often mentioned together. Rejuran Healer uses PN (polynucleotide), which our treatment page describes as supporting the skin’s own repair process and helping it hold onto moisture. PDRN injection uses PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide), described as helping to regulate inflammatory responses and supporting the recovery of damaged tissue by signaling the skin’s collagen-making cells.

Neither treatment fills hollows the way a hyaluronic acid filler does. Their purpose is to improve skin quality — texture, hydration and firmness — gradually over a series of sessions.

How the experience differs

Rejuran Healer is injected into the shallow dermis with a fine needle; the injection itself takes about 20 minutes, after about 30 minutes of numbing cream. Small raised bumps at the injection points, sometimes called embossing, are a normal reaction that typically settles within 2–3 days, and average downtime is around 2 days. At REPIC Clinic the Rejuran product is opened in front of you and a certificate of authenticity is provided.

PDRN injection is delivered as a series of fine micro-injections and takes about 15 minutes, with numbing cream if needed. Minor redness, swelling or injection marks usually settle quickly, and downtime is around 1 day. For people with reactive or sensitive skin who prefer a gentler approach, the doctor may discuss PDRN first.

Choosing between them on a trip

Both treatments build up over a series spaced 2–3 weeks apart, so completing a full series during a single short trip may not be possible. A single session is a short visit that fits into a trip, and the doctor will talk through what one visit can realistically achieve. Results, and how long they last, vary from person to person.

Before either treatment, tell the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a fish or anesthetic allergy, take blood-thinning medication, or have a history of keloids. Prices for the Rejuran range are posted in English on our website; listed prices exclude 10% VAT.

Frequently asked questions

Is Rejuran the same as PDRN?
No. Both come from salmon-derived DNA, but Rejuran uses PN (polynucleotide) and PDRN injection uses PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide). Product range, session time and downtime also differ.
Which one hurts less?
Numbing cream is used for both. For Rejuran, Rejuran HB and REPIC Signature Rejuran include an anesthetic to ease discomfort. Pain perception varies between people.
How many sessions do I need?
Both are usually recommended as a series spaced 2–3 weeks apart. The doctor decides the number based on your skin.
Can I have one session while visiting Korea?
Yes. A single session is a short visit. Tell the doctor your travel dates so they can explain what one visit can do and whether follow-up is advised.
Who should not have these treatments?
They are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell the doctor about any fish or anesthetic allergy, bleeding-related medication, active skin infection or history of keloids.
